Sexual and Reproductive Health Officer

Adellah is a registered midwife with over 6 years’ experience in midwifery. Prior to joining to Shared Action Africa, she worked with Medical Teams International (MTI) where she supported 3 health facilities in Nakivale and Oruchinga settlements with provision of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services including antenatal care, post natal care, Immunization, Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission (EMTCT) and Family Planning. As a midwife, she also supported women with safe deliveries and emergency care including referrals for those who needed special attention from Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital. During her years of service with MTI, she was a midwife who played various roles including heading the Early Infant HIV Diagnosis (EID) section, Quality Improvement (QI) section as a focal person at Juru HCIII and Nshungyezi HCIII respectively

Adellah also participated in several community and integrated outreaches which aimed providing Community-Based Family Planning (CBFP). At the outreaches, she provided information on Family Planning and cervical cancer screening through counselling and also provided the family planning methods and cervical cancer screening services to women, girls and men in their respective communities.

She also served as a team leader of Oruchinga refugee settlement in food security and nutrition survey organized by World Food Programme (WFP).

Adellah holds a certificate in midwifery from Virika School of nursing and midwifery, Fortportal, Kabarole district and a Diploma in midwifery from Masaka School of comprehensive nursing.
